Designed by Xavier Pauchard in the 1930s for both industrial use as well as for public and private organizations, the Flap Cabinet has traveled through the years and fashions and is now a classic firmly etched in collective memory. Timeless, it has been readily accepted into the private sphere while retaining its status as an icon of industrial aesthetics. Embodying style from the 1930s through to the 1950s, this piece of furniture is robustly solid while also being very lightweight. Highly functional, it has three, five, seven or ten flap-covered shelves depending on the model chosen. Flaps open up 180 degrees and are drawn closed with magnets.
