Dirk Wynants for Extremis
Ahoy sailors! Introducing Anker (anchor in Dutch), a triangular picnic table that comfortably seats up to six Popeyes! Looking at the corner face of the table, you clearly see where we got the name. The Anker picnic table has an awesomely eye-catching set up when you combine it with our Inumbrina parasol! Get creative by combining wood and steel in your favourite colours to make a combination that suits your way of life.
Take a seat on this cosy six-seater and touch base with your friends and family. For projects on large terraces there is a hexagonal grid system you can use to line up many tables. Our hexagonal Inumbrina shades create a closed canopy roof above the Anker.
Iroko is an African species of tropical hardwood. The high quality allows Extremis to make wide table top segments out of one piece of wood. The colour and characteristics of the wood are similar to teak.
Extremis Hellwood has been treated with unique preservation that gives the fibres greater internal stability and increases their resistance to rotting. It's also resistant to UV rays, rain and acid rain, fluctuating humidity levels, frost, extreme heat, etc. Hellwood belongs in Durability Class I. An attractive side-effect of the process is the wood's dark colouring.
Just like other types of wood, Iroko and Hellwood will gradually become rougher and start to turn grey as a consequence of exposure to the sun and rain. Small cracks and crevices can also appear as part of this process. We strongly advise everyone to treat the furniture with our Wood Protector. This 100% natural oil controls the moisture level within the wood, which makes the planks stay stable for longer, and the layer of oil also helps to prevent spilled liquids from being absorbed, so that stains tend to stay superficial. It is best to repeat this treatment at regular intervals.
