The "Oltremare" collection of seats designed by Antonio Marras and created in collaboration with Saba, comes from a distant place and past, rich in history, memories, memories full of suggestions and visions. This is how Antonio Marras presented us with an object that he almost defines as a sacred idol, which speaks of his land, of its sea, but above all of its history. We called it Oltremare, because all things have a soul and every soul has a name. Oltremare encloses the classic and the modern between its inlets. The curve is a line that can be tamed: it creates a wave, a fold, creates a place but also offers an escape. In our imagination we have investigated the relationship between the curved line and the act of sitting down, drawing asymmetrical curves that become backrests and embrace extremely comfortable seats. The asymmetrical curves that enclose it are the inspiration behind the Oltremare armchair that completes the collection, together with the padded bench. A comfortable nest suspended on a slender base of painted metal, whose essential lines make the silhouette even more interesting by contrast. Oltremare is a seating system which, while nodding to the past, communicates a strong contemporary soul and naturally lends itself to different interpretations and changes of clothes.
