We're delighted to share that Norr11 Big Big chairs were recently featured in Architectural Digest's stunning showcase of Frances Merrill's Reath Design project—a sophisticated Aspen ski house that perfectly balances rustic mountain charm with refined contemporary design.

A Perfect Complement to Mountain Modern Design

In the home's impressive great room, designer Frances Merrill created what AD describes as a space where "classic and contemporary, rustic and refined, subtle and sophisticated" all come together seamlessly. Two Norr11 Big Big lounge chairs, upholstered in luxurious sheepskin, were chosen to anchor part of the main sitting area—and for good reason.

The chairs' swivel function allows guests to pivot effortlessly between intimate conversation and those breathtaking views of Aspen's mountaintops and ski slopes. It's this kind of thoughtful functionality paired with exceptional design that makes these pieces so special.

Understated Luxury

What we love most about this feature is how perfectly the Big Big chairs embody Merrill's design philosophy. As shared with AD, the goal was to "keep the mood understated and cozy" while incorporating carefully curated pieces that feel both timeless and fresh. The chairs sit comfortably alongside vintage Carlo Scarpa Kentucky chairs, a 1960s Tue Poulsen cocktail table, and contemporary works by Studio Valle de Valle and Faye Toogood.

This is exactly what great design furniture should do—enhance a space without demanding attention, provide comfort and functionality, and stand the test of time alongside both vintage classics and contemporary innovations.
