Product Information
Made as a gift to his wife, Helge Sibast designed this side table in the late 1950s. The exact origin and design year is not certain since it was only produced to fit his private home and never sold to the public. The side table was inherited by Helge’s daughter, and later passed on to her son Ditlev Sibast, who gave the table as a gift to his wife, Anna. Now more than 60 years later, the table is set into production by Sibast Furniture with the purpose of sharing this warm gift and beautiful design.
“It is with great joy and gratitude to my husband’s grandfather that we today have the possibility to pass on this gift from our family design heritage. To share this gift we hope to bring as much joy to others as it has bought to our family" says Anna Sibast.
The side tables are characterized by the different glass or marble plates in the center of the table top. Originally made with black colored glass plate, but today available with either black glass plate, white marble or green granite.
Being able to combine the sustainable design from the late 1950s with the contemporary trend of using marble, granite and brass as materials makes a unique and beautiful coherence, and is in essence what Danish Modern is about.
