Strap Sofa Table
By reducing the details of the Strap Sofa Table, the focus lies instead on the fine, solid oak from the forest of Damsbo in Denmark. Where the two main legs meet, a wide band of raw bend leather string is used to symbolize that the strap is holding the table together – a collaboration between constructional and aesthetic detail.
Another detail that stands out is the soft corner of the tabletop finished with a very sharp edge. This gives the table a tactile feel and emphasizes that it is made of solid wood.
The construction yields a very strong and durable table.
"Our aim in designing the sofa table was to create a new way to assemble a frame. The legs of the table are joined together with leather straps. This serves both as a constructional element as well as a visual key feature." - Herman Studio
