Minikelvin LED Table Lamp
Antonio Citterio for Flos
The smallest member of the Kelvin LED family, this tiny but powerful table lamp is the result of a creative collaboration between Antonio Citterio and Toan Nguyen. The lamp head—which can change direction—is presso-fused aluminum, and the diffuser is photoengraved methacrylate with an aluminate surround. The MiniKelvin LED features a power pack on its plug, and its base is pressofused Zamak. There is an on/off switch with Soft Touch technology and light flow adjustment for two intensities (100%, 50%, and 0%). Includes interchangeable plugs.
Inspiration behind the design:
It was experience mixed with inspiration that moved Antonio Citterio and Toan Nguyen to collaborate on the latest incarnation of the Kelvin family. Borne in their vast knowledge of industrial design, the pieces blend style and function with brilliant results. “With Kelvin, my intent was to start with a spring system and add an essential design,” says Antonio. “The project takes its design cue from a clamp, which becomes the base, and which explicitly evokes the image of a technical object, with an engineering matrix, inspired by bridges and tensile structures.
