What people think in "Hollywood" (which is of course largely code for "Burbank")--or can be made to make you think they think--seems to have some effect on what people think in "the rest of America" (which is of course largely code for "the rest of America, or at least parts of LA"). Evidently people have: bought certain clothes because Sarah Jessica Parker pretends to buy them; applied for certain credit cards because Robert "They're All Animals Anyway" De Niro sells them a voiceover; and (at least in my case) refused to use certain collect-calling discount programs because of the infernal creature called Carrot Top.

If celebrities' apparent opinions are this powerful, imagine the power of their corporate overlords' opinions! How can you not feel compelled to furnish your nursery with the same company that Universal Studios used for its child-care center?
