Mod Mom founder, Kiersten Hathcock, is a stay-at-home mom turned self-taught furniture designer & builder. After leaving the corporate world in 2003, to spend more time with her kids, Kiersten rekindled a passion for woodworking. Her father, a self-taught carpenter and woodworker, built most of her family's furniture growing up, and she learned from tinkering around in his garage workshop. Thirty-some years later, Kiersten works from her own workshop where she designs and produces her modern/mid-century inspired kids' furniture.

This "woodland mod" Owl Toy Box is an extension of the Bertie Toy Box. I think it will fit beautifully in any natural, modern kids room or playroom. And if that child loves owls, it's sure to be a hit! It's made from eco-friendly birch plywood, hand drawn and cut veneer cut-outs, low-voc paint and water-based polyurethane. Similar to the Bertie, the lightweight lid easily lifts off by using the Owl's eyes as finger holes. Just lift and toss to the ground haphazardly. Then load up your favorite toys...or little brother or sister, and take them for a ride!
