It's been nearly seventy years since the last great vogue in silhouettes, but that time ends now, if Amenity's Nicole Chiala and Kristina de Corpo have anything to say about it. They've used this traditional variant of portraiture to blur the boundary between bedroom and botanical garden. Their large-scale prints--two main branches or stems for a whole king-sized bed--in contrasting neutrals are like looking through a magnifying glass from the other side of the sun: the utter lack of surface details in each pattern somehow adds a great warmth to these lovely outlines. Based in Los Angeles, Amenity seeks to incorporate nature in all its beauty and comfort into everyday life with gorgeous, useful, high-quality goods. And they've succeeded: you can't get much more everyday than prime-time TV, where an episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" featured Amenity's Twig pattern duvet.
