Questions on Patrick Townsend White Orbit Chandelier

Can you suggest what height above a 29 1/2" dining room table this should be hung? Ceilings are 11 ft. Thx.
Thanks for writing on one of my favorite items, the Patrick Townsend Orbit Chandelier. (I want one really bad!).
In answer to your question, there is no standard for hanging chandeliers over a dining room table, but to give you a good starting off point, the bottom of the fixture should hang between 30" and 36" from the tabletop assuming you have an 8' ceiling. So, for your 11' ceilings we recommend that for each additional foot of ceiling height you should add about 3" to the suspension height.
But, I'd say you'll need to assess what feels right for you based on the dining table and the surrounding space in the room. The best thing to do is hold the fixture over the table and move it up and down until it feels right.
I hope this helps a little. We'd love to see pictures once you have it installed! (send it firstname.lastname@example.org if you can!!).
Please advise about the canopy min and max length. Thx.
The Patrick Townsend White Orbit Chandelier has a plug on the end and does not include a canopy. It would need to be modified to be wired directly to electrical wires in the ceiling and a canopy would need to be purchased separately. The cord length is 12'6".
"I just discovered your site yesterday (and I'm already ordering from it!) I even forwarded it on to a friend. I was giving up on finding bedding that I liked, so it's nice to know there are others out there who appreciate a mod(ern) sensibility. And your rugs are too die for!"
