Is this unit deep enough to hold records (vinyl) without spilling over?
Good question! Our bookshelves definitely fit vinyl records in their sleeves neatly in each compartment, however the 3X with Base I had to measure the interior dimensions keeping in mind the covers needing to be able to close over the vinyl’s cardboard sleeves.
According to Wikipedia, the size of the typical cardboard vinyl LP sleeve cover is 12 3/8” square. The 3X compartment dimensions are 12 ¼” deep x 18 ¼” wide x 13” high.
With exact compartment depth from front to back of the 3X being 12 ¼”, I slid the cover shut on the tape measure to see just how much give there is between the outer front edge of the shelf and the wall/lip of the actual cover. You realistically have 12 ½” of room. So, you should be able to fit vertical, side-by-side vinyl in there with room to close the cover over it, if the sleeves of the covers are in fact 12 3/8” square.
"I just discovered your site yesterday (and I'm already ordering from it!) I even forwarded it on to a friend. I was giving up on finding bedding that I liked, so it's nice to know there are others out there who appreciate a mod(ern) sensibility. And your rugs are too die for!"
