  1. 60 YEARS H55. The Swedish Society of Industrial Design arranged the Helsingborg Exhibition of 1955, to, in the optimistic spirit of the age, showcase the previous 25 years since the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930. The event acquired the neat nickname of H55. Scandinavia’s designers were extremely well represented, including Alvar Aalto, Stig Lindberg, Yngve Ekström, Finn Juhl and Arne Jacobsen. And Björn Hultén. Björn designed a sun chair – one of the things that we at Skargaarden have always held dear as a source of reference and inspiration. It’s so perfect it’s almost provocative. How so little material can provide so much comfort. How something that speaks with such subtlety can become the focal point for a whole garden. It’s now 60 years since the H55 exhibition. We’re marking this with a 60th anniversary edition of the H55 that features Sunbrella Renaissance fabric in darker and lighter versions.

  4. The revisitation of this great classic inspired by the Windsor style entails experimentation and the combination of different materials such as plastic and wood which are interpreted winningly in a country chic "wood" version with four oak-stained or painted ash wood legs and “rockers”. A recollection of tradition and ancient emotions, reminiscent of the chairs gracing the verandas of colonial homes or the more familiar and nostalgic chairs of our grandmothers.

  6. We went back and forth on this one, but ultimately decided this rope swing is truly the lollygagger’s dream. It includes a 5-foot black nylon rope that comes attached to a durable seat made from 100% recycled plastic. The swing’s ropes are fashioned with a pair of rings to attach the swing to a tree or beam of your choice. 10. In 2005, AIA award-winning, local Duluth architect David Salmela designed the office for Loll's design/manufacturing facility and the good ideas never stopped. Nearly 7 years later we are happy to introduce a unique collection of Finnish-inspired, sculptural furniture by David. Taavi is an inspired low profile lounge perfectly suited to outdoor contemplation and Gladys is a slightly taller and narrower translation, with a vertical headrest that is more comfortable than it may appear. Both speak the same language.
