Wall Applications

So, maybe you’re not the most skilled when it comes to hammer and nail action, but you still want to add something to your wall that has character and spice to it. A solution: consider texture! No, I’m not talking about covering your walls with grout or plaster (unless you really want the pieces to be permanent). I’m referring to adding squares, circles, hexagons, or textured wall flats to your walls…all of which incorporate the simple process of working with peel and stick adhesives (and a little paint).
DP Texture Trick #1: Wallter’s Wall Applications. The applications come in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit whatever texturing needs you desire. The only skills required with the wall applications are a creative mind to arrange the rectangles, circles, teardrops, slats, and squares in a funky, fun, simple or modern fashion. Shizao! So fun. Our friends at Wallter gave us some great pointers and suggestions to consider when using their wall applications:
1.) Walls include ceilings, stairwells and doors too! Don’t forget to install some Circles around a lamp that is hanging from the ceiling. Or on the ceiling down the hallway. On doors too, for that matter.
2.) Renting, but still want something interesting on the wall? Install the applications on a pre-stretched canvas. Take it along when you leave.
3.) Tired of standard mirror frames? Installa standard square mirror on the wall then surround the mirror with our Squares. (Install wall applications to the wall not mirror)
4.) Don’t think about just one wall in the room to install Wallter Wall Applications. Putting a few pieces on each wall can create an overall feeling of unity.
5.) The pieces arrive primed and ready to paint so you can customize your walls to match couch, rug, pillows, dog, etc.
DP Texture Trick #2: Wall Flats from Inhabit. The Wall Flats are similar to a modern day wall paper but created in a tiled peel and stick format (for a semi-permanent application) and made out of bamboo pulp..a very renewable resource! The flats can be used to do an entire room, one wall or to create free-standing-art pieces. The pieces come in a boxed set and arrive with a recycled unfinished look so priming and painting is required in addition to the basic peel and stick installation, but boy…
look at how worth it your efforts can be!
Yay for texture! The next source of inspiration…form and function…
