We all know how good it feels when you know exactly where everything is and all the items you have collected over the years have a “place.” What a sense of satisfaction, calm, order. But, we also all know how easy it is for things to spiral out of control and all the neat or orderly drawers or corners of a room become a pile of disarray. Eh. Pain, misery, stress, frustration. With busy schedules and little motivation to clean it is not too difficult for the mass amounts of material goods to take over our lives. As the motivation wanes the piles grow and the frustration mounts…Double eh.

the organized lifeBut, lo! We have a solution! Actually, more of a coach. Emily Wilska, professional organizer and owner of “The Organized Life,” helps people clear their lives of clutter. Whether you need a quick closet cleanout or a house-wide overhaul Emily is the one to turn to for help. Emily is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), and the Director of Professional Development for the NAPO-SFBA Chapter. Her list of accomplishments is rather long, but included in that list she is author of Organizing Your Home, a comprehensive guide to bringing more order and organization to every room in your house. Suffice it to say, Emily has seen it all and knows how to help folks get organized.

Thus, Emily has shared with us her tips to hopefully get you thinking about ways to make your home a less stressful, your days more efficient, and ultimately a more fulfilling life. With her guidance we will:

  • Help you ponder where things should go.
  • Encourage you to “reconnect with your stuff.”
  • Give tips on how to organize your bedroom, bathroom, office, closet.
  • First up, let’s discuss where things should go!
