In honor of my nephew dog, Finney (seen here), I believe it is appropriate to attribute a corner of my apartment to him via a Crypton Petalonia Pillow. The colors match his chocolate coat oh so perfectly and the image of the pups on the pillow strikingly resemble his handsome dog physique from puppy days to his “grown up” years. Gotta love dogs!
Check out all of Crypton’s pillows and pet beds on DP.

Spot on Square’s new Hiya Rocker brings back memories of my childhood…
I was the type of little girl who sported a mullet (not by choice) and who dressed in jelly shoes, leggings, pleather skirts and a leotard. I would get all my favorite previously mentioned gear on and would proudly sit on my rocker (which was not nearly as cool as the Hiya) and pretend to read books to an audience of stuffed animals. The best part was my speech impediment…they said my tongue was too big for my mouth so an “s” would sound like a “th.” We have some good VHS of the scene but for proprietary reasons I am not allowed to share, ha!
Enjoy Spot on Square’s Hiya Rocker on DP.

I’ve finally gotten around to posting the photos of our historical outing to Chevy’s for after work drinks. Check out all the pics on Flickr. A momentous event it was indeed. Take special note of the tableside guacamole preparation.

How often do you see something as genius as the Casa Kids Ola! Crib? If you do your research you’ll realize not too often. This crib is a triple threat if I’ve ever seen one…it converts to both a toddler bed and a twin bed. As your child outgrows the Ola! Crib, the vertical side rails can be easily replaced with hardwood conversion rails, creating the new, playful Ola! Toddler Bed. And what do you do with the side rails you removed? Send them to the landfill? Nope, they become the headboard and footboard of a new Ola! Twin Bed, to be used throughout adolescence or as a great guest bed. Such longevity and a great financial investment!

A nice write up on lighting trends by Kim Cook in the Boston Metro. I even got a little quote in there myself!
The products in the spotlight: Mibo’s Clacket Lane lamp and the Inhabit Builtby Even Steven lamp. Thanks, Boston Metro!

Today Drew sent out an e-mail inviting us all to drinks after work tomorrow. In his e-mail he suggested that we wear our “office casual” attire. I guess we all need a little help in this department because he included guidelines on what to wear:
“Women: blouses, pulled-back hair. Men: ties, pastel shirts, Dockers, no sportcoats. See below for inspiration:”

We’ll see tomorrow how this all pans out…

***A little heads up…this video is in French.
Thanks to one of our ThisNext friends we were tipped off about the video featuring designer team Julie Klear and Moulay Essakalli of Zid Zid Kids. As of yet all of us at DP don’t really know what the video is actually about since we don’t speak French, but with the visuals it isn’t too hard to get the general gist. I’ll be in France next week so maybe I’ll either pick up a word or two and be able to translate for everyone or I’ll find a buddy who will give me the low down. Nonetheless, it is a great chance to see Zid Zid products in action and get to know the designers. Enjoy!
