Benjamin Hubert has created Pots: an earthen landscape of sculptural but functional objects for your kitchen table, desk or windowsill. It's a manifestation of simplicity, an ode to history and an acknowledgement of the qualities and aesthetics of our soil, and what it provides us.
Since the beginning of time, indigenous people from separate continents have found and acknowledged this simple material of "baked earth" for a variety of purposes: artistic representations of historical and mythological characters, architectural means such as shingles and bricks and of course pots: the ever-important purpose of containing our food and beverages.
The natural, raw and grainy tactility of the terracotta clashes with the glazed inside and soft rubber lids, providing a multitude of experiences for your senses. When using Pots you experience the evident and uncompromising juxtaposition between the ancient traditions found in terracotta and the industrial modernity embedded in the mass-produced rubber lids.
