Normann Copenhagen Ding Table

$490.00
WWWW
The Ding table is inspired by ancient three-dimensional wooden brain teaser puzzles. The table consists quite simply of three legs made from oak have that are assembled without screws and tools of any kind.

When put together they constitute a sculptural knot that works as the base for an exclusive glass tabletop. The legs are rounded off with chamfered edges, making the table stand sturdily on the floor and the round sheet of glass sit solidly on the base.

The Ding table is available with either a clear or smoked glass tabletop, and with a choice of three different types of legs, there is ample opportunity to find exactly the style that suits your furnishings and taste. For example, you can combine a clear glass tabletop with legs in natural for a clean and Nordic expression, or turn up the intensity with a smoked table top in bold coral-colored or striking black legs.

Normann Copenhagen Just Chair

$290.00
WWWW
Just Chair is a simple and understated stackable shell chair with lots of personality and character that is as beautiful when seen from below as from above. The frame is discretely tucked into the chair's molded shell, and the shell's tapering thickness gives it a friendly and welcoming expression.

The designer duo Iskos-Berlin has returned to the essence of the chair for Just. They have taken their reference point in the shape of the chair as typically drawn by a child, that is, with legs that seem to protrude directly from the seat. They have visually transferred this effect to the Just Chair, where the frame has been uniquely tucked into the underside of the shell, transforming the chair to a harmonic, natural and unified whole.

Iskos-Berlin say: "Just is not born out of the desire to design a different chair. On the contrary, we wanted to use innovative molding and assembly techniques to achieve an elegant and subtle result, full of hidden details. Good design does not necessarily have to make a lot of fuss - those who want to will see the details."

Normann Copenhagen My Chair

$280.00
WWWW
With My Chair, the designer Nicholai Wiig Hansen has reinterpreted the classic shell chair adding a striking elegance and harmony. The rounded corners and curved waist counterbalance the rigorous design of the chair. My Table shares the same rigorous and elegant characteristics of My Chair with its rounded corners and angles and curves of the frame. The design is timeless and has a harmonious and inviting feel.

On closer inspection of the chair and table you will gradually notice a number of understated details, bearing witness to the fact that all of its features are carefully thought out. For example, no standard parts have been used, but instead customized solutions have been implemented allowing a completely aesthetic experience no matter from what angle you look at the product.

Nicholai Wiig Hansen explains: “My aim was to design a chair with unequalled harmony and to try to come close to the indefinable quality that, in my opinion, lifts a design to another level. My Chair is a mixture of something familiar and something new, something neutral yet characterful, something present but not dominating, something simple as well as complex and something rigorous as well as curved. In other words, My Chair is a shell chair the way I think it should be.”

”The aim of My Table was to make a table using the simplest kind of construction possible, while at the same time making sure it was both versatile and durable. It has been a long and challenging process and although it doesn't look like it when you see the finished result, it is extremely complicated to make a product with such a simple feel. There is no room for a single wrong proportion or angle and one millimeter too much can interfere with the whole overall experience.”

Normann Copenhagen Onkel Sofa 2-Seater

$3,400.00
WWWW
Onkel (the Danish word for Uncle) is a sofa that combines the simplicity of modern forms with the soft curves of the olden days. The outer shell of the sofa has a firm expression, while the cushions are comfortable and inviting.

The Onkel sofa consists of a frame with cushions upholstered in either durable furniture textile or soft leather. The inspiration for the cushions derives from the more bombastic upholstered sofas typical of the pre-1950s era. The back cushion has been elegantly encapsulated in the frame to accentuate the union of two very different modes of expression. The materials used for the shell and cushions have been kept in the same color and there is a lacquered frame in a matching shade. This gives simplicity to the design and makes Onkel stand as a unified whole.

Simon Legald explains: “As a designer, I am curious about how the materials work together with the idea. Onkel is a sofa that was designed in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. In creating Onkel, I have revived old craftsmanship techniques and used them in a new context. In doing this, the details add character to the design.”
