An adaptation of traditional wooden laquer trays and kneading bowls found extensively across Southern India, the Bowl Table can be used as both table and tray. To use as a tray, simply and easily remove the legs. This keen feature also serves another purpose, by reducing the cost and energy spent on transportation.
The bowl is turned manually on the lathe, showcasing the skill of the `Kharaadi’ or the wood turning community, thereby supporting local skills. The legs are made of mild steel, machined out of rods. The finishing is done with lead free water based PU lacquers.
The Trumpet Coat Stand is the new iconic organizer to hold clothes, hats, scarves, and bags. There are nine discs in three different sizes which have been fitted to the stand with turned wooden dowels. Each component is manually produced on lathes by members of the ‘Kharaadi’, a local community respected for their wood turning skills. Each Trumpet Coat Stand is shipped unassembled for efficiency in transit and is easily put together.
The Mater Terho Lamp is designed by the Finnish designer Maija Puoskari. Inspired by nature, Terho means ‘acorns’ in Finnish and simply refers to the organic and appealing shape of acorns found in nature. The warmth and beauty of natural alder wood combined with opal glass makes it as contemporary as it is timeless. The wood is from responsible European forestry (FSC), treated with natural wax, and the glass is mouth-blown in the Czech Republic.
