  1. Originally introduced in the 1950s, the Doo-Wop Pendant was designed in close cooperation between the Navy Buildings Department and Louis Poulsen. The pendant was used for many years in the builidngs of the Navy for many different applications such as cateens and offices. The Navy Pendant, which was the name at that time, was widely used because of the unique lighting properties and utility. Not until the early 1980th the product was taken out of the Louis Poulsen catalogues. In recent years, more and more of the old editions have been sold again through antique stores and auctions. This has caused a demand and Louis Poulsen has been asked to re-launch the products. The new version is very close to the original. The shades are still and spun by hand and completed with the fine rolled edge which gives the shades a special opticial volume. The brass variant challenges the craftsman as it is spun from a solid brass plate and appears polished. The fixture primarily provides a downward directed soft light by means of the white lacquered inner conical reflector. The outer reflector, the main shade, contributes to directing the light up- and downwards, while at the same time spreading the soft diffuse light. The inside of the main shade is illuminated through an opening in the inner conical reflector.

  3. Enigma 425 Pendant Lamp. Designer: Shoichi Uchiyama Manufactured under license in Denmark by Louis Poulsen Lighting. Dimensions (in): 29.3 h | 16.6 dia. | 50W max The Enigma 425 pendant was born as a result of the pursuit of high-quality and glare free soft light spreading to the whole space. The four shades will be lit up and emerge into the space. Looking up at the pendant from the bottom, a sequence of the four shades will create a gradation and produce a beautiful harmony. It emits glare-free lighting to large rooms via its innovative yet simplistic form. The strong direct light from the halogen lamp hits each shade, is reflected and diffused with precision allowing a soft transmitted light spreading downward. 7. PH Snowball Pendant by Louis Poulsen Designer: Poul Henningsen Manufactured by: Louis Poulsen Dimensions (in): 15.4 h | 15.7 dia. The Poulsen PH Snowball Pendant is a wonder not only of glare-free illumination, but also of precise mathematics. Designer Poul Henninsen shaped the Poulsen PH Snowball Pendant so that every surface is struck by a ray of light at exactly the same angle, creating even illumination without harsh glare. The Poulsen PH Snowball Pendant Lamp features glossy top shades for sparkling light, and matte undersides to prevent reflections. The result is an even, warm glow. Poul Henningsen designed the Snowball Pendant in 1924, and many consider it to be a smaller version of the PH Louvre he made for the Adventist Church in Skodsborg, Denmark. Henninsen's inspiration was the quality of light he'd experienced from petroleum lanterns, which lined the streets of the small Danish town he grew up in. 8. Enigma 545 was designed by Japanese designer Shoichi Uchiyama in 2007 and extends the Enigma family. Enigma 545 is a larger version of Enigma 425, based on the design idea of floating shades held by ultrathin wires, providing a transparent and light expression. The design fitted well with Louis Poulsens product philosophy, and was a new interpretation of the multi-shade system. Japanese grace combined with Scandinavian simplicity. An enigma is a mystery, referring to the fact that the shades appear to hover suspended when viewed illuminated from a distance.
