Loll Designs

Loll Designs is a contemporary design/manufacturer offering durable, all-weather furniture and accessories made with 100% recycled and recyclable HDPE #2 plastic. Loll products are a testament that materials that were once decreed to be waste can be repurposed into another product that is functional, useful, durable, and stylish. For every pound of weight in a Loll chair there are an estimated 8 recycled milk jugs being used, saving natural resources and reducing land-fill waste. Sustainability to Loll Designs is more than just our products. The combination of our products and company values relate to ecological principles that look at sustainability as a holistic focus on our community, environment, and economy.

  1. Designed with Eva Sobesky, the Topo Table is casually eye-catching and unexpected. This smaller, tiered table, is inspired by the concentric lines of elevation on a topo map. The Topo works well with Loll's lower slung lounge chairs and chaise lounges like the Cabrio, Vang, 405,and Luge.

  2. Although Milk Stools are not used so much for milking cows these days, the Loll Milk Stool would work udderly perfectly for that application. They are also quite helpful when you are in a pinch for an extra seat both in the house and out and they can even double as a side table. The Loll Milk Stool works quite well as a seat in the shower too! Made entirely with 1-inch thick recycled plastic, this one will be around for a long time.

  3. Designed by Eric Pfeiffer with Loll, the Fire Ring is made with 1/8 thick steel and has a solid raised internal floor to contain the ashes. The Fire Ring is designed with three wide feet so it sits stable on even rough surfaces. When in use the vertical cut-outs cast a windmill pattern of orange light on the surrounding area. Two horizontal cut-outs help in moving the Fire Ring to different locations. Add the recycled poly top and the Fire Ring doubles as a cocktail table when not in use and the poly top also helps keep rain and snow out. The steel is unfinished and will develop a nice rusty patina over time. Made in Duluth, MN, USA. Notes on Steel Fire Ring: Outdoor lollygagging sometimes requires a fire. It's highly unlikely someone, even Loll, could make a Fire Ring out of plastic, duh, so we decided to use steel. Is steel green you ask? We asked the same question and here is what we found: Steel, as it turns out, is the most recycled material in America. The recycled content of U.S. steel produced at U.S. mills averages 88% with a recycling rate of 98%. Lastly, this Fire Ring will last a lifetime with zero maintenance. Important! When burning wood, do NOT use Fire Ring directly on combustible surfaces like wood decks. When in use the Fire Ring will heat up and become extremely hot. Use good sense and caution when burning wood in your Fire Ring.

  4. Toby Rapson, son of midcentury architect Ralph Rapson, was working to put his father's classic designs back into production when he bumped into Loll founder Greg Benson at an event in Minneapolis. The meeting prompted Rapson to rethink his father's rocking chair as an eco-friendly outdoor rocker made from recycled material. "It became a collaboration between us and Loll to translate the chairs Ralph Rapson drew to a new innovative product," Toby said. The Rapid Rocker was originally designed for manufacturer Knoll in the 1940's. We think Ralph would be happy with this modern version made with both material and manufacturing not available when it was first conceived.
