JEB JONES is an American furniture design and production studio located in upstate New York. Our furniture designs are distinguished by simple geometric forms, traditional construction methods, hand-tooled surfaces and hand finishing. Only select hardwoods are used in the construction of each piece. The hand-painted, hand-rubbed opaque finishes and clear coats are all VOC-free and environmentally safe. The artist and designer John Eric Byers is the creative energy behind JEB JONES. His individual furniture designs have been honored with numerous awards and grants, such as a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award and two New York Foundation of the Arts Awards. In addition, his one-of-a-kind designs are residing in the permanent collections of several national museums, including the Museum of Arts & Design in New York and the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. In 2002 he was the first of his generation to be commissioned by Steinway & Sons to create a one-of-a-kind Model B Grand Piano for their Art Case Collection. And in 2011, he will be included in the Smithsonian's Archives of American Art's oral history program for his contributions as a leading american artist working with wood.
